Crusader is a Catholic faith-education mobile application for students, teachers, and families. References to "we", "us", or "our" refer to the developer of Crusader. You can reach us at crusader.app@gmail.com.
Crusader is intended for users aged 13 and older. Users under 13 must have a parent or guardian create and manage their account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information without consent, please contact us at crusader.app@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

We do not collect location data, contacts, camera images, microphone audio, device identifiers, or any data unrelated to app functionality.
The image-picker feature (used by teachers to upload course thumbnails) accesses your photo library only when you explicitly tap to upload an image. We do not scan or retain images beyond the one you choose to upload.
Crusader includes AI-assisted course-building tools available to teachers. These features use Google Gemini, an AI service provided by Google LLC, to:
When you use these features, the relevant text content (lesson blocks, quiz questions, or uploaded document text) is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. This content is not associated with your account or personal identity in the data sent to Google — only the educational text itself is transmitted.
Google processes this data under its own Privacy Policy and Gemini API Terms of Service. By using the AI course-building features, you acknowledge that content you submit for AI processing will be sent to Google.
AI features are only available to teachers and are not used in any part of the student experience.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
All app data is stored on Supabase (supabase.com), a secure cloud database platform. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest. We follow industry-standard practices to protect your information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss.
Certain teacher actions — such as saving course content — are processed by a secure server-side function that verifies your identity and performs the Catholic faith check before writing data to the database. This server function has no access to data beyond what is necessary to complete your specific action.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Your data is shared only with the following service providers, solely to operate the app:

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate data (e.g. total quiz completions) may be retained indefinitely as it cannot identify you.

To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email crusader.app@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete My Account". We will delete your account, progress data, streak data, and any course content you created within 30 days.
To request deletion of specific data only (such as progress or streak history) without deleting your account, email us with the subject line "Delete My Data" and specify what you would like removed.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the app or applicable law. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
