1. Who We Are

CrusaderKids is a Catholic faith-education mobile application. References to "we", "us", or "our" refer to the developer of CrusaderKids. You can reach us at crusader.app@gmail.com.

2. Age Requirement

CrusaderKids is intended for users aged 13 and older. Users under 13 must have a parent or guardian create and manage their account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information without consent, please contact us at crusader.app@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

3. Information We Collect

We collect only the following:

• Account information: your email address and a hashed password, collected when you create an account.
• Display name: the name you choose when registering, used to personalise your experience within the app.
• Learning progress: quiz scores, lesson completion status, and daily streak data, stored so the app can track your progress across sessions.
• Role: whether you registered as a student or teacher, used to show the correct features.

We do not collect location data, contacts, camera images, microphone audio, device identifiers, or any data unrelated to app functionality.

The image-picker feature (used by teachers to upload course thumbnails) accesses your photo library only when you explicitly tap to upload an image. We do not scan or retain images beyond the one you choose to upload.

4. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively to:

• Create and authenticate your account
• Save and display your learning progress
• Allow teachers to create and publish courses
• Maintain app functionality and performance

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

5. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on Supabase (supabase.com), a secure cloud database platform. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest. We follow industry-standard practices to protect your information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss.

No security system is perfect. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at crusader.app@gmail.com.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Your data is shared only with Supabase, solely for the purpose of storing and retrieving it on your behalf, under their privacy policy.

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal process.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate data (e.g. total quiz completions) may be retained indefinitely as it cannot identify you.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data

9. Parental Rights

Parents or guardians of users under 18 may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's data by contacting us at crusader.app@gmail.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the app or applicable law. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
